Jacob Johansen has joined the nuclear physics group at IFA on April 1st. He will be working with Hans Fynbo on experimental studies of low and medium mass isotopes. The aim is to study short-lived states of astrophysical importance, initially focusing on the alpha-branch in 16O. Jacob got his PhD in the nuclear physics group at IFA in 2012 and he rejoins the group after having worked two years as a postdoc at TU Darmstadt. At TUD he worked on development of new detectors for experiments with radioactive nuclei and a part of his job at IFA will be testing and implementing new DAQ systems and setups.
